PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tiny Tim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kadaj Strife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tim might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to God Bless Us, EVERYONE!. Kadaj Strife will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tiny Tim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kadaj Strife!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strife tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Strife tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tim paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Strife wants to clinch up but Tim keeps it at a distance.
Tim circles away from the clinch attempt.

Tim closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Tim looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Strife manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Tim trying to control but Strife postures up.
Tim manages to get to full guard.
Tim controls Strife momentarily but Strife frees himself.

Tim is looking for a triangle but Strife pushes his legs off easily.

Tim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Strife's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tim trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Strife keeping moving, preventing Tim from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tim tries to free his leg and advance position but Strife is retaining full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tim wants to control from the top but Strife keeps moving.
Tim looking to sit in guard and control but Strife gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tim trying to strike off his back.

Tim escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Strife gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tim swats away the attempt to clinch by Strife.
Tim takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Strife wants to clinch.

Tim closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tim missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Tim lands strikes from half guard.
Strife is trying to maintain the position but Tim is very close to passing his half guard.

Tim is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tim trying to mount his opponent but Strife defends it.
Strife is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tim's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tim's back!
Tim turns into Strife and is now in his guard.

Strife is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tim postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Strife is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tim, into his guard.

Strife thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tiny Tim dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Strife tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tim circles away from the clinch attempt.

Tim scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Strife wants to improve his position but Tim is controlling well.
Tim throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tim is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Strife is just riding it out for now. Tim eventually gives up the hold.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Strife is looking to clinch but Tim is avoiding it.

Tim shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Strife's guard.
Tim might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Strife working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tim slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Tim tries to move to mount but Strife blocks the move with his legs.
Strife struggling a bit here.
Tim fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Tim thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tim with the ground and pound but Strife regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Tim tries to pass the half guard into mount. Strife knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Tim not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Strife tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tim swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tim looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tim frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Strife tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Strife regains half guard.

Tim wants to work for an arm triangle but Strife is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Strife moves into full guard.
Strife is trying to keep Tim in close.
Tim is looking to advance position but Strife has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Tim is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Strife reverses the position - he's now on top in Tim's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tim not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tim has his foot on Strife's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strife works his way back into a safe position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Tim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Strife swivels and escapes.
Strife moves away from the strike by Tim.
Strife tries to clinch up but Tim circles away and keeps his distance.
Strife is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Strife lands a nice hook to Tim's body. Tim takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Tim tries for a takedown but Strife sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Horrible takedown by Tim or perhaps it was just good defense by Strife which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tiny Tim. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Strife misses with a hook to the ribs.
Strife tries to break the clinch but Tim is controlling the position.
Strife wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Strife can't find room to land a body shot as Tim controls the action.
Strife tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
A head punch on the inside from Strife fails to land.
Strife tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tim's elbow.
Strife stalling in the clinch but Tim improves position.
Strife misses with the head strike.
Tim drops down looking for an ankle pick but Strife pulls his leg out and moves away.
Strife is looking to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tim circles away from the clinch attempt.
Strife tries to clinch but Tim moves out of range.
Kadaj Strife has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Strife fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tim manages to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kadaj Strife comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tim has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
