Coming up we have a welterweight kickboxing rules bout between Axl Dokken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandis Nilenders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dokken might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cherry Pie "Warrant". Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Axl Dokken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sandis Nilenders!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nilenders takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Dokken drives through and clinches with Nilenders against the ropes.

Nilenders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dokken throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nilenders.

Nilenders moves into range and clinches up with Dokken.
Nilenders is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Dokken prevents a body shot from Nilenders.
Dokken lands an uppercut.
Nilenders wants to break free but Dokken has control.
Nilenders tries to break the clinch but Dokken is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dokken prevents a body shot from Nilenders.
Nilenders pressing his opponent against the ropes.
Nilenders goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nilenders avoiding damage.
Nilenders tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dokken avoids it.

Nilenders breaks from the clinch.

Dokken instigates a clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Nilenders.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dokken stalling in the clinch but Nilenders improves position.
Nilenders is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Dokken tries to circle away but Nilenders has him pinned against the ropes.

Nilenders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dokken scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Dokken doesn't manage to clinch there - Nilenders circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nilenders looks low and kicks high, catching Dokken right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!


It looks like Axl Dokken has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nilenders tries to clinch up.
Dokken lands a really nice looking cross but Nilenders seems unphased.
Nilenders goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Nilenders fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dokken tries to clinch but Nilenders is having none of it.
Nilenders throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dokken circles away from the clinch attempt.

Nilenders darts in and clinches Dokken up against the ropes.
Nilenders trying to control the position but instead, Dokken has worked for underhooks and has pushed Nilenders into the ropes.
Nilenders struggles to land a body shot inside as Dokken controls his hands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nilenders tries to throw a body punch but Dokken avoids it by throwing Nilenders back against the ropes.
Nilenders is looking to break free of the clinch but Dokken has double underhooks.

Nilenders manages to break the clinch.

Dokken moves into the clinch successfully.
Nilenders on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A short body shot lands from Dokken as the two fighters clinch.
Dokken tries a body shot but Nilenders blocks it.
Dokken is trying to stall.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nilenders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Having scored a knockdown, Sandis Nilenders should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.
The cut man is working on Axl Dokken's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dokken is looking to clinch but Nilenders is avoiding it.
Nilenders tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dokken swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nilenders keeps the fight on the outside.

Nilenders walks into a big right hand from Dokken and goes down! The referee sends Dokken to a neutral corner as Nilenders gets back to his feet. He looks OK so we're back under way.


It looks like Sandis Nilenders has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nilenders feints and then cracks Dokken's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dokken down.
Dokken tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Nilenders holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nilenders wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Nilenders stalling in the clinch but Dokken improves position.

Nilenders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Axl Dokken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nilenders misses with a wild body shot.
Dokken tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A punch lands to the side of Nilenders 's head but he takes it in his stride.


Nilenders is rocked!
Nilenders leaves his chin hanging out and Dokken seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Nilenders crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Axl Dokken!
After winning the bout, Axl Dokken thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
