Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Biggie Lyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karim Zidan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zidan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lyon shoots in and gets a takedown into Zidan's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Lyon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Lyon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lyon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zidan for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Biggie Lyon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Lyon connects with a leg kick. Zidan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zidan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zidan wants it to stay on the feet.
Lyon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lyon wants to stand up but Zidan is controlling the position.

Zidan scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Lyon manages to mount him!

Lyon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zidan can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lyon pulls Zidan in close to his closed guard and prevents Zidan from doing any damage or advancing position.

Lyon lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Lyon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zidan tries to avoid it but Lyon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zidan to the ground. Zidan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Zidan shoots for a double leg takedown but Lyon sprawls well. He's pushed Zidan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's time! Lyon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Lyon lands a jab to Zidan's midsection.

Lyon moves into range and clinches up with Zidan.

Lyon gets control of Zidan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lyon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

so Lyon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zidan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lyon uses it to pass to side control.

Lyon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lyon shoots in looking for a takedown. Zidan tries to sprawl out of it but Lyon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zidan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Zidan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lyon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lyon is taking a breather. Zidan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lyon thows a huge punch but Zidan dodges it nicely.

Lyon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lyon is trying to trip Zidan. He has hold of a leg but Zidan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lyon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lyon connects with a nice short shot to Zidan's temple.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lyon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
