Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Monteiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rousimar Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares has chosen arrival to earth as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that William Monteiro has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily William Monteiro seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monteiro with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Monteiro scores with a three punch combo!
Monteiro misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Monteiro fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Palhares has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Monteiro swats away the attempt to clinch by Palhares.
Palhares has his takedown stuffed
and Monteiro counters with a one-two to the body.
Monteiro throws a series of punches but Palhares avoids them all with ease.
Palhares tries for a takedown but Monteiro circles away easily
and Monteiro counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Palhares walks into a jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Good leg kick by Monteiro there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A punch combination from Monteiro misses.
Rousimar Palhares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheers as Monteiro lands an impressive looking overhand right. Palhares doesn't seem phased though.
Monteiro scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Monteiro plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Monteiro lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Palhares with a lazy takedown attempt
and Monteiro counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Palhares is lucky that one didn't land flush.
William Monteiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rousimar Palhares.

Monteiro rushes Palhares with punches - Palhares moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Palhares goes down! Monteiro follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
