Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zhang Xianfa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chevy Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nguyen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Killing in the name. Zhang Xianfa could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chevy Nguyen's chin.

With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zhang Xianfa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chevy Nguyen!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nguyen lands a jab.
Nguyen shoots for a takedown but Xianfa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Xianfa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Xianfa throws a shot from downtown. Nguyen moves away and avoids it.
Xianfa scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Xianfa throws a sloppy head kick
and Nguyen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Xianfa throws a leg kick but Nguyen sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Nguyen moves into the clinch successfully.
Nguyen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Xianfa has had enough of the clinch but Nguyen keeps him there for the moment.
Nguyen misses with a hook to the ribs.

Nguyen gets through Xianfa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Nguyen slows down the pace here.

Xianfa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nguyen misses with a straight right.

Nguyen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Xianfa was covering up waiting for the punch and Nguyen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Nguyen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Nguyen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Xianfa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Xianfa is looking for a sweep. Nguyen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nguyen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Xianfa tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Nguyen manages to move to mount!
Xianfa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Nguyen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Xianfa is looking to escape.

Nguyen has control of Xianfa's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Xianfa regains control of the situation pretty easily.
