The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ventura uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gonzo.
Gonzo takes one to the side of the head.
Gonzo tries for a takedown but Ventura sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ventura looks to throw the jab but Gonzo is out of range.
Gonzo blocks the body kick.
Gonzo ducks right into an uppercut from Ventura.

It looks like Doctor Gonzo has been cut.
Gonzo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ventura lands a nice hook to Gonzo's body. Gonzo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Ventura lands a left and a right that send Gonzo crashing to the mat, dazed. Ventura thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Anthony Ventura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzo is breathing heavily.
Ventura ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Ventura engages and cracks Gonzo with a massive lead left hook - Gonzo tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Ventura is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
