Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikal Helio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helio comes to the cage accompanied by Brazil National Anthem . Duran has chosen Seven devils - Florence as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Calvin Duran has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Helio uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Duran.
Duran misses the jab.
Helio takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Duran scores with the left hand. Helio knows he should have avoided that one.

Helio wants to clinch up but Duran keeps it at a distance.
Duran motions for Helio to come forward. Duran throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Helio throws out a leg kick but Duran moves out of range and Helio only half commits.

Duran cracks Helio with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
A slow jab from Duran misses its intended target.

Duran lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Helio ducks under a wild hook from Duran.

Duran throws a hook but Helio avoids it easily.
Duran throws a low kick but it's checked well by Helio.

Helio rushes Duran and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Duran lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Helio drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Duran gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Duran pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Duran swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Duran tests Helio's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Duran throws a leg kick but Helio sees it coming and moves out of range.
Duran shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Duran throws a head kick but Helio moves out of range.

Helio scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Helio is looking for a kimura but Duran is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Helio to get the leverage.
Helio is pressing down on Duran's thigh, looking to free his foot. Duran is holding on for now.

Helio is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Helio is trying to control. Duran wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Helio seems to be working for a kimura but Duran defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calvin Duran dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Helio wants to pass the guard but Duran is keeping the position.

Helio has gone for a leg lock! Duran slips out almost immediately though and dives into Helio's guard.
Duran stops Helio from standing up.
Helio looking to hit a scissor sweep but Duran is one step ahead there.
Duran is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Duran is sitting in close to Helio's body. Helio has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Duran is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Duran is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Helio.
