Van damm has chosen Life Goes On as his entrance music. Tong Van damm has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Orion Cook's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van damm throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Cook counter with a right hand.
A chopping leg kick lands by Van damm.
Cook throws a poor cross that misses
and Van damm counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Van damm - that will leave a mark!
Van damm moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Van damm closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Van damm throws a strike aimed at the side of Cook's head but Cook avoids it well.
Cook looks to move to half guard but instead Van damm has passed into mount! Damn!

Van damm wants to control the pace but Cook is squirming around nicely.
Cook is desperately trying to improve his position but Van damm has a good base and remains in mount.
Van damm lands with some strikes.
Cook tries to hold on but Van damm pushes him away.
Van damm fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Van damm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Van damm loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Cook scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Van damm land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Van damm stands and salutes the crowd.
