Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alejandro Alonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and wayne carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alonzo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
carter tries to get to full guard but Alonzo has control of the leg.

carter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Alonzo controls the pace.

Alonzo wants to control his opponent's hands but carter gets his hands free.
Alonzo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because carter is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

carter had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alonzo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. carter Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alonzo's back instead.
