PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Teemu Timber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rannanjarvi Antti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Timber comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Hell´s Bells. Rannanjarvi Antti is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Antti looks for a takedown but Timber sprawls well.
Antti tries to clinch but Timber is having none of it.

Antti gets caught flat footed, as Timber shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Timber stops Antti from standing up.
Timber advances to half guard.

Timber is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Antti doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Timber.

Timber is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Timber is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Antti is just riding it out for now. Timber eventually gives up the hold.
Timber thows a huge punch but Antti dodges it nicely.

Timber is tying to control. Antti wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Timber is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Antti won't allow Timber to pass to mount.
Antti is trying to stand back up but Timber is controlling him

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Antti fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Teemu Timber has been cut.
Timber fails with the takedown

and Antti counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Antti.
Timber is breathing heavily.

Antti breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Timber drives through and clinches with Antti against the cage.
Come on Antti - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Antti is looking to break free of the clinch but Timber has double underhooks.

Antti breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Antti bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Antti clinches but Timber breaks the clinch

and Timber counters with a shoot takedown. Antti fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Timber sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Antti's guard.
Antti is trying to stand up here but Timber is controlling him well.

Timber gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Antti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Antti wants to clinch.

Timber shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Antti's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Antti manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Timber wants to hold on but Antti pushes him away.
Timber is working to get back to half guard.
Antti tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Timber is squirming around, avoiding Antti's attempts to control the action.
Timber is looking to get to half guard.

Timber is working hard here to advance position.
The referee warns Timber that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Timber wants to control but Antti is having none of it.

Antti working for a submission but Timber is keeping him at bay.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Timber takes the fight into the clinch.
Timber jumps guard but Antti stands there with Timber around his waist. Timber gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Antti tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Antti comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Antti lands a hook that snaps the head of Timber backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Timber is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Antti pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Antti escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Antti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Timber scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Timber is looking for a kimura but Antti is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Timber to get the leverage.
Timber stops Antti from getting back to his feet.

Timber is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Antti defends it well.
Antti wants to control but Timber is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Timber looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Antti looks like he's trying to stand up.
Timber tries to pass the half guard into mount. Antti knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Timber stops Antti from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Timber darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Timber seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Antti is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
