Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Greco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greco has chosen Inner Circle- Bad Boys as his entrance music. Sam Greco is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonathan Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Greco!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones darts in trying to clinch
and Greco counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Greco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Greco gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jones misses with an elbow over the top.
Greco has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Greco's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Greco fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones is looking for a takedown.
Jones throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Greco avoids a wild elbow strike from Jones.
Greco tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones trying to control the position but instead, Greco has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jones into the cage.
Jones gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Sam Greco has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones misses with an elbow over the top.
Greco has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Greco lands with a light punch inside.
Greco scores with a shot to the side of Jones's head.
Greco tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Greco lands an elbow that stopped Jones in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Jonathan Jones has been cut.
Greco avoids the elbow strike from Jones, against the cage.

Greco breaks from the clinch.

Greco has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Jones pushes off an throws an elbow but Greco leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Jones wants the takedown. Greco is fighting it off but Jones persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Greco's guard against the cage.
Jones is working Greco over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jones advances position into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones happy to just control the position for now.

Jones trying to control the action but Greco is working from the bottom.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Greco, who protects the arm well.
Greco on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Greco stops Jones from passing to mount.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Greco seems a little lost for a moment, as Jones dominates the positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Greco to see if he's OK.

Jones has hold of Greco's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Greco seems comfortable defending it but Jones has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Greco is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Greco is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jones couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jonathan Jones!
