Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitrtiy Koschelev!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koschelev throws a head kick but Yanenko moves out of range.

Yanenko dives in and grabs Koschelev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Koschelev pushes down on Yanenko's head and hops out.

Yanenko manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Koschelev on his heels. He'll look to pass Koschelev's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Yanenko tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Yanenko has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Yanenko goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Koschelev has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Yanenko but great work by Koschelev.

Yanenko tries to score a power double leg takedown but Koschelev sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yanenko somewhat.

Koschelev moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Yanenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Koschelev's waist but Koschelev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yanenko off to one side.

and Koschelev counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Yanenko is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Koschelev pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Yanenko back to the cage. Koschelev follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Koschelev has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Koschelev throws a combination. Yanenko tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Koschelev lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Emil Yanenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yanenko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Koschelev wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Yanenko wants to free his trapped foot but Koschelev is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Koschelev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yanenko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Yanenko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Koschelev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
