The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belfort throws an overhand right that lands on Partners's shoulder, as Partners tries to avoid the shot.

Belfort gets a double leg takedown into Partners's guard.
Belfort stopping the sweep attempt from Partners.
Belfort advances to half guard.
Belfort tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Belfort controlling the action here.

Partners has one foot on Belfort's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Partners stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Partners wants it to stay on the feet.

Belfort shoots in looking for a takedown. Partners tries to sprawl out of it but Belfort keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Partners manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Belfort is looking to clinch but Partners is avoiding it.

Partners defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Belfort.
Belfort tries to clinch there but Partners circles away.

Vitor Belfort seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Belfort shoots in looking for a takedown. Partners tries to sprawl out of it but Belfort keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Partners manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Belfort counters by clinching up.
Belfort is trying to pull guard but Partners has him pressed against the cage.

Belfort throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Partners's waist but Partners gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Belfort off to one side.

Belfort is looking to stand up but Partners won't let him.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Partners looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Belfort closes the distance and pushes Partners back into the cage.
Belfort is trying to force a seperation but Partners has the dominant position.
Belfort has Partners pressed against the cage, preventing Partners from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Belfort is on top in guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Vitor Belfort was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Belfort counters with an inside leg kick.

Vitor Belfort showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Belfort has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Partners is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Partners tries to break free but Belfort pushes him back against the cage.
Partners is trying to break the clinch but Belfort has him pressed against the cage.

Belfort tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Partners walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Partners shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Belfort sprawls well. Belfort wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Partners gets slowly back to his feet.

Belfort shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Partners but Partners pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Partners with a lazy takedown attempt
and Belfort counters with a nice body shot.
Belfort throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Belfort manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Partners on his heels. He'll look to pass Partners's guard now, I'm sure.
Partners is pulling down on Belfort's head. It's preventing any offense from Belfort, at least for the moment.
Belfort trying to control but Partners is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Belfort takes the fight into the clinch.

Belfort successfully pulls guard.
Belfort manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Belfort postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Partners looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vitor Belfort comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Belfort has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
