Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mingo Deems (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luka Jelavic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jelavic's choice of entrance music: VocaPeople - Acapella Group. The key to victory for Mingo Deems has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jelavic on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Deems. Deems obviously looking to wear him down.
Deems throws a wild body kick that Jelavic sees coming a mile off.
Jelavic gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jelavic connects with a crisp jab.
Mingo Deems seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deems comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Deems throws out a powerful jab.
Deems tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Deems enables Jelavic to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Deems manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A clash of legs there as Jelavic blocks the low kick.
Deems lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Jelavic bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Deems's head backwards.

Jelavic seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jelavic wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Deems pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jelavic is out of range and Deems settles back down.

Jelavic shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jelavic was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
