Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Goldman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Gray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Goldman!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldman swats away the attempt to clinch by Gray.
Goldman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gray's waist but Gray gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Goldman off to one side.
Goldman takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Gray attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Gray connects with a body shot that sends Goldman's belly button to the back.
Goldman throws a leg kick
and Gray counters with a big head kick but Goldman shrugs it off.
Gray scores with a push kick.
Gray ducks under a wild hook from Goldman.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Goldman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Goldman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gray finds it's way round the side to connect with Goldman's head.
Goldman takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A nice leg kick lands there from Gray.

Gray on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Goldman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Gray misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Goldman.
A short uppercut from Gray.
Gray blocking some punches.
Gray gets through Goldman's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Goldman turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gray is looking to reverse the position.

Goldman is trying to get an arm triangle but Gray is defending well.
Goldman laying and praying for a moment but Gray takes advantage and regains half guard.
Gray is trying to get back to full guard.

Goldman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gray does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Goldman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Goldman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gray defends it well.
Goldman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Goldman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Goldman is working for a submission of some sort.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that David Gray will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Goldman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gray on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jab, jab by Gray - just one landing.

and Gray cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gray connects with a good right hand that stumbles Goldman. Goldman circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like Michael Goldman has been cut.

Gray can't do much from the bottom here.
Goldman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gray is not content to let Goldman control the position.
Goldman tries to advance position but instead Gray slips a leg back in to half guard.

Goldman is looking for a kimura but Gray is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Goldman to get the leverage.

Goldman wants to take a breather but Gray is having none of it.
Goldman thows a huge punch but Gray dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goldman is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Goldman is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Gray has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Gray!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Goldman takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Goldman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gray has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gray and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Gray uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Goldman.

Gray will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Goldman up against the cage.

Gray has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goldman is working away from the top position though.

Michael Goldman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Goldman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
