PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris comes into a darkened arena with his song building. no love kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Bryan Harris will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Savage gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but Savage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryan Harris wasn't active enough on the ground.

Harris shoots in and bounces Savage off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Harris postures up in Savage's guard and throws a big left but Savage blocks it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bryan Harris hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Harris throws a head kick but Savage moves out of range.

Harris gets a takedown into half guard.
Harris tries to stand but can't do so whilst Savage controls his leg.

Harris with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Savage wants to improve his position but Harris is controlling well.
Harris thows a huge punch but Savage dodges it nicely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bryan Harris.
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch up but Savage swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Harris scores with a takedown into Savage's guard.
Harris passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Harris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Savage to the ground. Harris is now in Savage's guard.
Harris passes Savage's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Harris stands up and beckons Savage to join him on the feet.
Harris tries to clinch there but Savage circles away.

Harris looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Savage!

Harris decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Harris throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Harris closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Savage's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Savage keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully.
Harris wants to pass the guard but Savage is keeping the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryan Harris wasn't active enough on the ground.
Harris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Savage manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Harris throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Savage tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harris is in Savage's guard.

Harris slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryan Harris wasn't active enough on the ground.
Harris wants to land a leg kick but Savage is out of range.

Harris shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Savage napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Savage keeps working.

Harris tries to stand but can't do so whilst Savage controls his leg.

Harris frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Savage is squirming around, avoiding Harris's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Harris wants to control but Savage is keeping him busy.

Harris has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Harris shoots in and gets a takedown into Savage's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Harris drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Savage manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harris's best efforts.

Harris seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Bryan Harris has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Harris is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Savage's half guard.

Harris is trying to work for a kimura but Savage is defending well.

Harris is just content to waste time from the top position. Savage takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Harris is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Savage avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Harris.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Harris is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bryan Harris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Harris passes to full mount!

Bryan Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
