Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ash Williams!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Williams is defended easily by Shaw.

Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Shaw is looking to escape.
Shaw is trying is best to control the position here.
Shaw regains full guard. Nicely done.
Shaw manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Williams is trying desperately to improve position.
Williams avoids a series of strikes thrown by Shaw.

Williams is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Shaw has hold of Williams's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Williams manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Williams really wants to buck Shaw off and get back to his feet.

Shaw jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Williams manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Williams avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shaw.
Williams is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Williams tries to improve position but can't.

Shaw decides to stand back up. Shaw steps back and let's Williams get back to his feet.
Shaw tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.

and Shaw counters with a straight right hand.
Shaw swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Williams counters with a good, hard body kick but Shaw shrugs it off.
Roy Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaw is breathing heavily.
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch but Shaw swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Williams shoots in and bounces Shaw off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Shaw is retaining full guard.
Shaw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Williams drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shaw looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shaw looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shaw!
Williams is trying to get back to his feet.
Williams can't do much from the bottom here.
Williams avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shaw.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shaw. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shaw misses with the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Roy Shaw will probably get the nod.

Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shaw throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Williams slips a jab and a cross from Shaw.
Shaw is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Shaw counters with a series of strikes. Williams will be more careful next time no doubt.

Williams drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shaw dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Williams changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shaw looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Shaw is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it.

Williams scores with a couple of short elbows.
Shaw has one of Williams's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Williams wants to stand but Shaw is controlling his arm.

Williams scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shaw to see if he's OK.
Shaw tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Williams swings around for an armbar but Shaw sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Williams's guard.
Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams is trying to hold Shaw in close to prevent damage but Shaw has managed to pass into half guard.

Williams is looking to clinch but Shaw is avoiding it.
Williams tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shaw manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Williams counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Shaw takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Good work by Shaw as he checks the leg kick.
Williams throws a leg kick but Shaw checks it.

Williams clinches up against the cage.
Williams throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Shaw blocks it with crossed arms.
Shaw managing to block the knees to the body from Williams.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williams trying to control the position but instead, Shaw has worked for underhooks and has pushed Williams into the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Williams is trying to pull guard but Shaw turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ash Williams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Williams has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
