PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Unkind Artist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damme kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fight to Survive. The crowd seem to be enjoying Artist's choice of entrance music: Dropkick Murphys - Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Unkind Artist was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damme throws a leg kick but Artist sees it coming and moves out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Artist.
Damme slips under a jab from Artist.
Artist scores with a sloppy right hand. Damme should have avoided that one.
The crowd cheers as Artist lands an impressive looking overhand right. Damme doesn't seem phased though.
Damme looks to land a combination. Artist sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Unkind Artist has been cut.
Damme turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Damme takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Damme throws a hook to the side of Artist's head but Artist sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Artist lands with a hook. Damme tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Damme throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Artist throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Damme does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Artist throws a jab but it's blocked by Damme.

Artist fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Damme looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Artist jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Artist throws a right hand that Damme ducks under and follows up with a left that Damme also avoids with ease.

Damme lands a nice shot to the body.

Artist throws a leg kick
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
and Damme finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Artist is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Damme lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Damme misses with an uppercut. Artist saw that one coming.
Artist shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Artist lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Damme has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Damme and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Unkind Artist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Artist takes a swing at Damme's ribcage but misses.
Damme misses with a hook. Artist ducked under it nicely.

Damme clobbers Artist with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Artist with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Damme to score with a decent uppercut.

Damme throws out a leg kick but Artist moves out of range and Damme only half commits.
Artist's corner calls for a 1-2. Artist obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
That kick from Damme tenderised Artist's leg. Artist is trying to keep his angry face on.
Damme moves forwards but Artist connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Artist misses with an uppercut
and Damme counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Damme throws a low kick but Artist avoids it.

Damme sends Artist crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Damme is motioning to the referee to let Artist up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Artist is rocked!
Damme lands an uppercut, right on the button! Artist tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
