Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caden Prevost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose McSmokey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Caden Prevost!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose McSmokey!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Prevost.
McSmokey misses with a takedown attempt - Prevost sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McSmokey looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Prevost on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Prevost tries to get out of the position.

McSmokey has gone for a leg lock! Prevost slips out almost immediately though and dives into McSmokey's guard.

Prevost avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

McSmokey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Prevost can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Prevost has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McSmokey is proving hard to escape from.

McSmokey looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Prevost has picked McSmokey up and slammed him! McSmokey can't keep hold of the triangle and Prevost manages to pass to side control!

Prevost has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

McSmokey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

McSmokey steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Prevost. That one must have hurt.

McSmokey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Caden Prevost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose McSmokey.

McSmokey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Prevost is fending him off so far but McSmokey persists. Nope, Prevost circles away and we're back to standing.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Prevost. McSmokey shrugs it off though.
Prevost throws a series of punches but McSmokey avoids them all with ease.

Prevost misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Prevost scoring well with a low kick there.

McSmokey looks for a takedown but Prevost sprawls well.
Prevost misses with a few strikes there.

Prevost shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Prevost showed some decent athleticism there.
It looks like Prevost is going to stand back up.

McSmokey wants to get back to full guard.

Prevost stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows McSmokey to get to his feet.
Prevost throws a right and a left that McSmokey avoids nicely.
Prevost lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Prevost moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A combination from Prevost does no damage.

McSmokey doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Prevost counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Prevost will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

McSmokey gets caught flat footed, as Prevost shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Prevost wanted to stand there but McSmokey had control of the position.

Prevost might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McSmokey manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Prevost manages to get himself to full guard.

Prevost has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes McSmokey off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Prevost rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McSmokey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Prevost throws a series of punches but McSmokey avoids them all with ease.

McSmokey forces Prevost back against the cage and clinches.
McSmokey tries to pull guard but Prevost holds him up against the cage and eventually McSmokey drops back down to his feet.
Prevost wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McSmokey has him pressed against the cage.

McSmokey fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Prevost is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Prevost is pressed up against the cage. McSmokey has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Prevost down to the mat. Prevost avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jose McSmokey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prevost throws a right and a left that McSmokey avoids nicely.
Prevost throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McSmokey.
McSmokey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Prevost counters with a good low kick that McSmokey was not able to check.

and Prevost counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Prevost throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McSmokey.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A left and a right from Prevost both land. Nice combination.
Prevost feints and then cracks McSmokey's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McSmokey down.

and Prevost counters with a solid body kick.
Prevost throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Prevost shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

McSmokey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Prevost doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Prevost manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

McSmokey is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McSmokey wants to sweep here but Prevost controlling him for the moment.

Prevost is posturing up here but McSmokey has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Prevost tries to roll out but it's too tight and Prevost has to tap! Slick submission there by McSmokey!
