PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Goncalo Neto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joakim Goransson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joakim Goransson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neto scores with a shot to the body.
Goransson stuffs the takedown.

Neto has closed the distance and engaged Goransson in a clinch.

Goransson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Neto tries to avoid it but Goransson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Neto to the ground. Neto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Goncalo Neto will probably get the nod.

Neto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Neto wants it to stay on the feet.

Goransson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Neto walks away with a smile on his face. Goransson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Neto feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Goransson's calf.

Neto shoots in for a double leg but Goransson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Neto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Goransson pinned against the cage. Goransson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Neto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Goransson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Neto somewhat.

Goransson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Neto napping and manages to drive through into side control!
