Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Slade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ignas Klaipeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Slade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ignas Klaipeda!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slade drives through with a takedown into guard.
Slade controls from within his opponent's guard.

Slade drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Slade jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Slade pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Klaipeda is keeping the position for now.
Slade seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Slade pushes down on Klaipeda's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Slade takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Klaipeda is trying to stand back up but Slade is controlling him
Slade is looking to advance position but Klaipeda won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Slade wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Klaipeda falls off balance throwing a combination

and Slade counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Slade.

Slade tries to free his leg and advance position but Klaipeda is retaining full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Slade has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Slade stands and throws Klaipeda's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Slade is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Klaipeda has escaped the position, nice work there.
Slade works to advance to full mount. Klaipeda defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slade's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Slade wants to finish this one by submission but Klaipeda is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Slade.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klaipeda gets caught flat footed, as Slade shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Slade slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Slade slips nicely into half guard.
Slade looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Slade is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Klaipeda sees it coming and defends easily.

Klaipeda is trying to stand back up but Slade is controlling him
Slade is controlling the pace.
Klaipeda is in trouble now - Slade has advanced to mount!
Klaipeda is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Slade lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Slade looking to control and managing it successfully.
Klaipeda is breathing heavily.
Slade putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Klaipeda keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Slade lands a big elbow.
Klaipeda tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Slade tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Slade is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Klaipeda can do to turn this around?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Slade is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Klaipeda is surviving well by controlling Slade's body position as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Klaipeda throws a looping overhand right but Slade ducks down to avoid it.

Slade fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Klaipeda to the ground. Slade is now in Klaipeda's guard.
Slade is stalling in the full guard.
Slade passes Klaipeda's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Slade controlling the action here.
Johnny Slade overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Slade seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Klaipeda has recovered full guard.
Slade not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Slade wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Slade is defended easily by Klaipeda.
Klaipeda looks to land a combination but Slade avoids it well.
Klaipeda misses with the combination.
Klaipeda takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Klaipeda throws a right and a left that Slade avoids nicely.
Klaipeda throws a nice looking combination but Slade bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Klaipeda looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Klaipeda misses with a wild combination.
Klaipeda throws a right hand that Slade ducks under and follows up with a left that Slade also avoids with ease.

Slade misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Klaipeda fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Klaipeda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Slade shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Slade was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Johnny Slade has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Klaipeda misses with a jab, cross combination.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slade, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
