Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Gabrial (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Dudley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Dudley!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabrial tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dudley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Gabrial shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gabrial showed some decent athleticism there.
Gabrial sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dudley is not content to let Gabrial control the position.

We're going to have a standup here because James Gabrial wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gabrial dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dudley. That did some damage!

Dudley looks for a takedown but Gabrial sprawls well.

Dudley shoots in looking for a takedown. Gabrial tries to sprawl out of it but Dudley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gabrial manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Dudley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gabrial tries to avoid it but Dudley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gabrial to the ground. Gabrial escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gabrial shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dudley but Dudley pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dudley closes the distance and clinches up with Gabrial, looking for a takedown. Dudley pushes Gabrial against the cage but Gabrial circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dudley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dudley is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Gabrial is keeping busy.
Gabrial has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dudley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gabrial lands a takedown into guard.

Dudley manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Dudley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dudley moves into range and clinches up with Gabrial.
A bit of stalling here from Dudley.
Gabrial has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dudley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Dudley prevents Gabrial from breaking the clinch.

Dudley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gabrial pulls his leg out and moves away.
Gabrial shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dudley as he jumps to the side.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dudley lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Gabrial.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gabrial, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, James Gabrial was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
