Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Firus Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 3, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexander Geoly!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams moves forwards but Geoly connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Geoly throws an off balance right hand

and Williams counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Geoly!
Geoly struggling a bit here.
Williams in side control, throwing shots but Geoly defends.
Williams tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Geoly's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Geoly managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Williams.
Geoly sneaks back into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams is looking to take a break and control but Geoly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Geoly slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Geoly trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Geoly wasn't active enough on the ground.
Williams bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Williams connects with a high kick.
Geoly lands a jab.
Williams dives in and grabs Geoly's left leg, looking for a takedown. Geoly pushes down on Williams's head and hops out.
Geoly throws a hook but Williams avoids it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A jab from Williams misses.
Geoly throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Williams tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Geoly is pawing at Williams, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Williams's nose. Williams is badly hurt! Geoly pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Williams tries desperately to hold on but Geoly is relentless in his assault! As Williams receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Geoly away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Geoly!
Alexander Geoly was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
