Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bas Rutten!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Watts.
Rutten cracks a nice hook into Watts's ribs.
Rutten lands a body shot.
Rutten cracks Watts with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Watts looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rutten lands a lovely overhand right.

Watts shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rutten is controlling Watts's trapped leg to prevent Watts from advancing to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rutten doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Watts.
Rutten wants to improve his position but Watts is controlling well.
Rutten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Watts. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Watts is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rutten sees it coming and defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rutten wants to improve his position but Watts is controlling well.

Watts seems to be working for a kimura but Rutten defends the submission attempt.
Rutten is positioning himself well to prevent Watts advancing to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rutten can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rutten wants to get back to his feet.
Rutten is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Watts is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rutten is controlling Watts's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Rutten is looking for a sweep. Watts is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rutten is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
Rutten wants to get back to his feet.

Watts is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Watts wants to work for an arm triangle but Rutten is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Watts is trying for a kimura here. Rutten looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Watts wins by kimura!
