The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Halen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Van Halen dodges the punch combination from Monroe.

Van Halen throws a hook but Monroe blocks it.

Monroe moves out of range as Van Halen strikes.
Monroe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Van Halen circles away quickly and effectively.
Van Halen misses with an uppercut. Monroe saw that one coming.
Monroe closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Monroe misses with the combination.
Van Halen throws a jab but it's blocked by Monroe.
Carlos Monroe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Van Halen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Van Halen connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Monroe onto his butt! Monroe bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.
