With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice takedown defense from Stevenson. No joy for Saunders on that attempt.
Stevenson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Saunders manages to avoid it.
Saunders shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevenson as he avoids it easily.

Stevenson throws a hook to the side of Saunders's head but Saunders sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saunders wants to sweep here but Stevenson controlling him for the moment.

Saunders is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Saunders is breathing heavily.
Stevenson wants to control from the top but Saunders keeps moving.
Saunders really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stevenson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Stevenson is keen to just control but Saunders is a slippery customer.
Stevenson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Stevenson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Stevenson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saunders. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee warns Saunders that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stevenson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Stevenson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Saunders is surviving well by controlling Stevenson's body position as best he can.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Stevenson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stevenson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Peter Stevenson.
Stevenson throws out a loose jab but Saunders uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Stevenson counters with a flying knee that drops Saunders! Stevenson dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
