Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lane Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy Pettis acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks tries to clinch but Pettis moves out of range.

Pettis stalks Brooks and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Brooks's face. Brooks staggers backwards, shaken.
Pettis shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brooks eats them both and turns towards Pettis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Pettis is breathing heavily.
Pettis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lane Brooks.

Brooks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pettis defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pettis wants to get up but he can't break Brooks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Brooks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pettis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brooks has his foot on Pettis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pettis works his way back into a safe position though.

Pettis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Brooks to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pettis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Brooks pulls down on the head and he's put Pettis to sleep! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Lane Brooks made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
