The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Ewing tries to sprawl but Carter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ewing is doing well to control the position and prevent Carter from advancing to side control.
Ewing is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carter's back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Ewing controlling the positon.
You can see the frustration on Carter's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Carter is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ewing biding his time, looking for the opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter covers up after that shot from Ewing.

Ewing working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Carter is doing well to defend. Ewing seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Carter is forced to tap and this one is over!
