Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adolf Ellenberger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellenberger comes to the cage accompanied by Soldier. Gordon is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Parkway Drive - Frostbite. Ben Gordon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon gets cracked there but stands up to it.

No joy there for Gordon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gordon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ellenberger looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gordon working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gordon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Adolf Ellenberger will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gordon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gordon is taking a breather. Ellenberger says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Gordon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ellenberger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ellenberger has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gordon is working away from the top position though.
