The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Night drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Collins is trying to keep Night in close.
Night not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Night wants to pass the guard but Collins is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Collins throws a combination. Night tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Night Night seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Night throws a lazy body kick
and Collins cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Collins moves into range and connects with a jab.
Night wants to clinch up but Collins keeps it at a distance.

and Collins counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Night misses with a takedown attempt - Collins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Night is trying to force a seperation but Collins has the dominant position.
Night is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Collins pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Night fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Collins counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Night wants to clinch

and Collins counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Night down! Collins is looking to finish but Night is intelligently defending himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Collins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Night throws his legs up looking for a submission but Collins uses it to pass to side control.

Night is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Collins is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Night is squirming around, avoiding Collins's attempts to control the action.
Night wants to control but Collins is having none of it.

Night really wants to buck Collins off and get back to his feet.
Collins throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Collins throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Night because Collins loaded up on that one.

Night tries to reverse the position but Collins maintains control.

Collins trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Night wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Collins.
Collins looking to control but Night is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Night is looking to improve his position but Collins isn't that keen on the idea.

Collins blocks Night's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Night is trying to escape the mount.
Night sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Collins is trying to control the action in half guard but Night is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Night is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Collins is controlling him.
Night is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Night throws a nice looking combination but Collins bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Night dives in and grabs Collins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Collins pushes down on Night's head and hops out.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Collins here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Collins tries to bum rush Night with a series of wild strikes but Night uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Night shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Collins pinned against the cage. Collins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Night throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Collins's waist but Collins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Night off to one side.

Collins feints with a jab and clips Night right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Night is sent crashing into the canvas and Collins leaps in for the kill! Night tries to get to his feet but Collins is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Night is in need of a savior and steps in!
