PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hans Landa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Dooalot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Landa comes to the cage accompanied by Ich tu dir weh - Rammstein. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hans Landa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Dooalot!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Landa avoids the body shot from Dooalot.
Landa shoots in for a takedown but Dooalot shows good takedown defense.
Landa tries to clinch up.
Dooalot looks to land a body kick but Landa moved away.
Dooalot takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Landa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dooalot finds it's way round the side to connect with Landa's head.
Dooalot lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Landa lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Dooalot scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Landa throws a leg kick but Dooalot moved away.

Landa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dooalot circles away quickly and effectively.

Dooalot connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

It looks like Hans Landa has been cut.
The fighters circling - Landa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Landa throws a low kick, looking for Dooalot's leg but Dooalot calmly moves out of range.
Landa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dooalot circles away quickly and effectively.
Horrible takedown by Landa or perhaps it was just good defense by Dooalot which made him look bad.

and Dooalot counters with an outside leg kick.
A slow jab from Dooalot misses its intended target.

and Dooalot counters with an inside leg kick.
Dooalot checks a leg kick.
Dooalot throws a sloppy head kick and Landa moves out of range easily.
Landa walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Landa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dooalot can pounce on him.
Dooalot is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
James Dooalot is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dooalot thumps Landa with a low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dooalot tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Landa wants to clinch.
Dooalot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Landa gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dooalot.

Landa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Landa lands in his opponent's guard.

Landa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Landa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Landa is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Dooalot looking to hit a scissor sweep but Landa is one step ahead there.
Landa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dooalot controls Landa momentarily but Landa frees himself.
Landa throws a big right hand that misses.
Dooalot has Landa pulled in close to control his posture.
Landa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Landa's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

James Dooalot has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Landa throws a body kick that misses
and Dooalot counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dooalot ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dooalot fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Landa.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Dooalot lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dooalot dodges the punch combination from Landa.

Landa throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Dooalot throws the left hand but Landa avoids the punch easily.
Dooalot has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Landa.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Landa does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Dooalot displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Landa.
Hans Landa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dooalot, as that shot connected.
Landa is looking to chop away at Dooalot's legs.
Dooalot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Landa.
Landa thows a leg kick but Dooalot checks it
and Dooalot counters with a head kick that wobbles Landa - left then right he sways and one more bomb from Dooalot sends him down. This one is all over!

After winning the bout, James Dooalot thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
