Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Antunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Mint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trevor Mint will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruno Antunes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Mint!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mint throws a head kick but Antunes moves out of range.
Antunes misses with a hook.
Antunes looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Antunes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Mint. Those never looked like landing.
Antunes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Mint slips under a jab.

Mint gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Mint is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Mint blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Antunes gets underhooks to prevent Mint's takedown attempt.
Antunes with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Mint is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Antunes is defending well for now.

Antunes successfully pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Mint stands and steps away. Antunes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Mint looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Antunes is fending him off so far but Mint persists. Nope, Antunes circles away and we're back to standing.
Bruno Antunes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trevor Mint.
Mint tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Antunes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mint moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Antunes is breathing heavily.
Mint swats away the attempt to clinch by Antunes.
Nice takedown defense from Antunes. No joy for Mint on that attempt.
Mint circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mint shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Antunes pinned against the cage. Antunes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bruno Antunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Antunes throws the kick towards the body but Mint avoids it.

Mint pushes Antunes up against the cage in a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Antunes just misses with a elbow thrown towards Mint's brow.

Antunes pulls guard.
Mint is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Antunes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Mint scoring with punches to the head and body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mint wants to stand but Antunes has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Mint works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Mint is trying to work for a kimura but Antunes is defending well.
Mint wants to free his trapped foot but Antunes is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mint thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mint throws a strike but Antunes avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Mint wants to stand but Antunes has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Antunes working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mint.
Mint's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Mint trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Antunes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mint trying to control the position from guard on top but Antunes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Trevor Mint was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Nice sprawl there from Antunes as Mint shoots in.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trevor Mint dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Antunes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mint paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mint is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mint throws a nice outside leg kick.
Antunes misses with a low kick as Mint jumps back.
Antunes misses with a body kick.
Antunes misses with a lunging right hand
and Mint counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Mint connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mint throws a series of punches but Antunes moves out of range.
Antunes fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Antunes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Mint darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mint is pressing down on Antunes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Antunes is holding on for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mint with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Mint is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mint moves into full mount! Antunes won't be happy about that!

Mint landing strikes, looking to finish!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mint unloading with bombs!
Antunes is squirming around, avoiding Mint's attempts to control the action.

Mint jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Antunes manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Mint decides to take the fight back to the feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Antunes misses with a lunging right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mint.

Mint is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Antunes's half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mint has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Antunes defend it? Mint steps over the head and cranks it - Antunes is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mint!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Trevor Mint!
