Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timo Silakka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roman Powertseski!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silakka fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Silakka could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Powertseski gets a takedown into half guard.
Powertseski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Silakka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Powertseski wants to get back to his feet.
Silakka controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Silakka manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Powertseski wants to stand but Silakka has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Silakka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Powertseski trying to control but Silakka is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Powertseski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Powertseski wants to control from the top but Silakka keeps moving.

Silakka looking for a guillotine here but Powertseski defends easily.
Silakka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Powertseski is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Silakka lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Powertseski!
Silakka is breathing heavily.
Silakka postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Powertseski looks a forlorn figure.
Powertseski wants to hold on but Silakka pushes him away.
Powertseski tries to reverse the position but Silakka maintains control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Powertseski in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Silakka trying to control but Powertseski is having none of it.

Powertseski is squirming around, avoiding Silakka's attempts to control the action.
Powertseski is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Silakka unloading with bombs!

Silakka is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Powertseski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Powertseski is desperately trying to improve his position but Silakka has a good base and remains in mount.

Silakka is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Powertseski has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Powertseski tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Powertseski wants to hold on but Silakka pushes him away.

Silakka throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Powertseski has his hands clasped together but Silakka breaks the hold and Powertseski is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Silakka!
