The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slade shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as States sprawls well. States wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slade gets slowly back to his feet.

States is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Slade's half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
States thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
States takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

States closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Slade to the mat! Slade manages to get full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
