Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Sanghief!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gabriel Heyat!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanghief getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Sanghief misses with a double jab.

Heyat tries to keep at a distance but Sanghief has taken the fight into the clinch.
Heyat wants to break the clinch but can't.
Heyat manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Sanghief escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanghief lands a jab-cross combination.


It looks like Gabriel Heyat has been cut.
Sanghief swinging wildly here.
Igor Sanghief seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Heyat avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sanghief wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Heyat will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Heyat misses with a low kick.
Heyat shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanghief but Sanghief pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A shot to the liver by Sanghief. Beautiful body shot.
Sanghief tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Heyat paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sanghief closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Heyat quickly recovers to half guard.
Heyat tries to get to full guard but Sanghief has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Heyat trying to control from the bottom.
Sanghief is stalling here. Heyat is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sanghief seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Heyat has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Sanghief is looking to regain half guard here but Heyat keeps moving and retains side control.
Sanghief is working hard here to advance position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Heyat tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Sanghief is looking for a sweep.

Heyat tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Heyat has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Heyat wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanghief keeps working.
Heyat controls the position from side control.

Heyat is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sanghief knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sanghief is looking to regain half guard here but Heyat keeps moving and retains side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Heyat is looking to take a break and control but Sanghief is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sanghief tries to buck Heyat off but Heyat is having none of it.

Heyat wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sanghief, who protects the arm well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Heyat looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Igor Sanghief will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Gabriel Heyat's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Sanghief feints and as Heyat raises his hands in defense, Sanghief changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Heyat has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Sanghief doesn't defend quickly enough and Heyat has managed to lock this one up! Can Sanghief escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Heyat on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Gabriel Heyat!
