PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Gwynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Matrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matrix has chosen The Matrix- Clubbed to Death as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Anthony Gwynn has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rob Matrix!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gwynn looks to land a combination. Matrix sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Rob Matrix has been cut.
Gwynn shoots in looking for a takedown. Matrix tries to sprawl out of it but Gwynn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Matrix manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Gwynn counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Gwynn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gwynn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Matrix is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gwynn's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Gwynn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Matrix can do anything to dispel that myth.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gwynn connects with a nice short shot to Matrix's temple.

Gwynn lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Matrix quite badly. Matrix pulls Gwynn in close trying to recover. Gwynn postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Matrix on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Matrix doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Gwynn!
