The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gossables throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rua was covering up waiting for the punch and Gossables finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gossables throws a big elbow that misses.
Gossables throwing strikes from guard but Rua blocks nicely.
Rua is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rua is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gossables off and has taken his back!

Rua is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Gossables up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Rua has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rua is looking for the choke from the back position but Gossables is controlling his hands well.

Rua has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Gossables has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Gossables's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
