Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox has chosen 2nd Round KO as his entrance music. Greg Kowalski has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Greg Kowalski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Fox!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox throws a right and a left that Kowalski avoids nicely.
Kowalski fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fox looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fox misses with a double jab.
Fox throws a nice looking combination but Kowalski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fox tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kowalski swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kowalski tries a head kick but it misses.
Kowalski connects with a solid leg kick.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kowalski - that will leave a mark!
Fox looks for a takedown but Kowalski sprawls well.
Kowalski stuffs the takedown.
A right-left combo lands from Kowalski.
A solid body kick from Kowalski.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kowalski.
Fox looks gassed!
Kowalski's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kowalski duly obliges.
Fox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kowalski as he avoids it easily.
Greg Kowalski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Fox.
Kowalski throws a series of punches but Fox avoids them all with ease.
Fox shoots in and drives through. Kowalski sprawls well.
Fox shoots in but no luck this time.
Kowalski lands with a nice body kick.

Fox tries to keep at a distance but Kowalski has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kowalski manages to break the clinch.
Fox takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fox on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Fox chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kowalski can pounce on him.

Kowalski drives through and clinches with Fox against the cage.

Kowalski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kowalski throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kowalski swinging wilding here.
Nice takedown defense from Kowalski. No joy for Fox on that attempt.
Fox takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Kowalski looks to throw the jab but Fox is out of range.
Kowalski lands with a thumping leg kick.
Fox shoots in for a takedown but Kowalski shows good takedown defense.
Kowalski scores with a leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Kowalski.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fox misses with a takedown attempt - Kowalski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kowalski misses with a few strikes there.
Fox is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kowalski is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Fox.
Fox shoots in and drives through. Kowalski sprawls well.
Fox takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Kowalski stuffs the takedown attempt from Fox. Fox gets slowly back to his feet.
Kowalski cracks a nice hook into Fox's ribs.
Kowalski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Fox looks to land a left hand but Kowalski moved out of range nicely.
Fox falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kowalski counters by moving into the clinch.

Kowalski breaks from the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fox looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Fox throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fox takes one on the button.
A punch combination from Fox misses.
Kowalski lands a nice shot to the body.
Kowalski tries to close the distance and clinch but Fox swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kowalski throws a solid leg kick but Fox takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kowalski.

Fox feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kowalski could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fox controlling from the top position.
Kowalski keeping moving, preventing Fox from controlling successfully.
Fox passes Kowalski's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fox is trying to control the action in half guard but Kowalski is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Fox seems to be looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fox prevents Kowalski from standing back up.
Fox works his foot free and advances to mount.
Fox can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kowalski is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fox content just to control the position here.
Fox wants to control the pace but Kowalski is squirming around nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kowalski trying desperately to get to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Kowalski dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Fox decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kowalski is in trouble now - Fox has advanced to mount!

Fox looking to secure an arm triangle but Kowalski defends it well.
Kowalski wants to get back to his feet.
Kowalski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fox on the ground.

Fox has control of Kowalski's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kowalski regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fox is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Fox extends the arm and Kowalski is forced to tap!
