PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between French Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JeffAkibarangerOnlineNew Jeff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chapman comes to the cage accompanied by Electric Worry by Clutch. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeff tries for a takedown but Chapman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Chapman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jeff counters with a nice kick to the body.
Chapman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jeff tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chapman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Jeff's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chapman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jeff on the ground.

Chapman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jeff knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jeff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chapman keeps working.

Jeff stands up and beckons Chapman to his feet.

French Chapman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jeff shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chapman sprawls well. Chapman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jeff gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Chapman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jeff avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chapman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Horrible takedown by Jeff or perhaps it was just good defense by Chapman which made him look bad.

Chapman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jeff manages to get back to half guard.
Chapman slips a nice elbow through Jeff's hands, connecting with Jeff's forehead.

Chapman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jeff is just riding it out for now. Chapman eventually gives up the hold.
Well, if Chapman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chapman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jeff does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

French Chapman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Chapman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jeff moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jeff has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chapman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Chapman tries to break the clinch but Jeff is controlling the position.
Jeff will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Chapman up against the cage.
Jeff is trying to push Chapman away but Chapman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Chapman drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jeff gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Chapman is working Jeff over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Chapman arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Jeff's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). French Chapman!
A relieved looking French Chapman thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
