Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hector Pelano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hubert Godfrey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pelano comes to the cage accompanied by I Wanna Be Somebody by WASP. Godfrey has chosen War Music as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Hubert Godfrey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Godfrey avoids a punch combination nicely.
A jab from Godfrey misses.
Godfrey throws a hook to the side of Pelano's head but Pelano sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Pelano throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pelano throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pelano tries to land a front kick but Godfrey steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Pelano throws a series of punches but Godfrey moves out of range.
Pelano fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Pelano throws a nice looking combination but Godfrey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hector Pelano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pelano displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Godfrey throws out the jab.

Hubert Godfrey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Godfrey throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pelano sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pelano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pelano walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Godfrey checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Godfrey darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pelano slips under a jab from Godfrey.

Pelano just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pelano. Godfrey does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pelano swings for the body but Godfrey moves out of range.
Pelano is looking to wear down Godfrey with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Pelano throws a right and a left that Godfrey avoids nicely.
Godfrey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Godfrey lands the left hand.
Godfrey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pelano.

and Godfrey counters with a crisp right hand that drops Pelano! Godfrey lets Pelano back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Godfrey might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Pelano throws a sloppy head kick
and Godfrey counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Pelano off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Godfrey follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Pelano was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Hubert Godfrey!
A relieved looking Hubert Godfrey thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
