Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Liam Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thierry Knox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Davidson circles away quickly and effectively.
A telegraphed right hand from Knox misses the target.
Knox misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Knox throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Liam Davidson has been cut.
Davidson tries to clinch up.

Knox closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Davidson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Knox tries to pull guard but Davidson won't allow it.

Davidson decides to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Knox throws a big elbow that misses.
Knox trying to stand up but can't free himself from Davidson's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Davidson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Knox trying to control the position from guard on top but Davidson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Davidson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Davidson misses with a takedown

and Knox decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davidson's guard.

Davidson has his foot on Knox's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knox works his way back into a safe position though.
Knox wanted to stand there but Davidson had control of the position.
Davidson seems keen to control Knox's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Knox wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving.
Davidson wants to stand but Knox is controlling the position.

Davidson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Knox can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Knox stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davidson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Davidson is trying to hold Knox in close to prevent damage but Knox has managed to pass into half guard.

Knox stands up out of the half guard.
Knox leaves Davidson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Liam Davidson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davidson is breathing heavily.
Davidson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Davidson is rocked!
Davidson tries for a takedown but Knox circles away easily

and Knox counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Davidson's guard now.
Oh Davidson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Knox stands up over Davidson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Knox gets to his feet. Davidson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Knox is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Knox shuts the power down on Davidson. Lights out, game over! Knox is your winner.
