Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Fulton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Fulton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Pain!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fulton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pain is refusing to be controlled, as Fulton sits in half guard.
Fulton tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pain knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Fulton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Fulton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pain is just riding it out for now. Fulton eventually gives up the hold.

Fulton seems to be working for a kimura but Pain defends the submission attempt.

Fulton is looking for a kimura but Pain is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fulton to get the leverage.
Pain is trying is best to control the position here.

Fulton wants to work for an arm triangle but Pain is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Pain trying to control but Fulton postures up.

Pain makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pain.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pain has his foot on Fulton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fulton works his way back into a safe position though.

Pain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fulton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fulton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fulton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pain is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Fulton, into his guard.

Pain trying to control but Fulton is working from the bottom.

Pain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Fulton had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pain is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Fulton Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pain's back instead.
Pain breaks Fulton's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pain trying to control the position from guard on top but Fulton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pain controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fulton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pain trying to stand up but can't free himself from Fulton's guard.
Pain tries to free his leg and advance position but Fulton is retaining full guard.

Fulton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Pain slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pain wants to control from the top but Fulton keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fulton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Pain trying to control but Fulton is working from the bottom.

Despite being in the dominant position, Tyson Pain just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pain with a poor takedown

and Fulton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pain wants to sweep here but Fulton controlling him for the moment.

Pain is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pain working for a triangle but Fulton defends it easily.
Pain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Fulton dominated that round.
That's time! Fulton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Pain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fulton.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fulton crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Pain - the referee stops the clock and Fulton gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Pain. Fulton manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Tommy Fulton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fulton sprawls well initially but Pain persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pain is keen to just control but Fulton is a slippery customer.

Pain decides to stand and escape the position.

Pain tries to keep at a distance but Fulton has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pain fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Fulton.
Fulton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pain just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pain is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fulton gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Fulton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Fulton is looking for a triangle but Pain pushes his legs off easily.
Pain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pain is pushing down on Fulton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fulton is fighting to maintain full guard but Pain has managed to sneak the leg through.

Pain is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fulton is just riding it out for now. Pain eventually gives up the hold.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Fulton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pain's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fulton advances position into side control!

Fulton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pain, who protects the arm well.

Fulton has an Americana. Pain didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fulton is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fulton hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
