Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex McKenzie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andy Booth!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Booth instigates a clinch.
Booth on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
McKenzie drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Booth takes a shot to the head.
Booth tries to pull guard but McKenzie won't allow it.
McKenzie tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Booth gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Booth is thwarting McKenzie's attempts to control the position.
Booth prevents McKenzie from improving his position.
Booth wants to take a breather but McKenzie is having none of it.
It looks like Booth is going to stand back up.

Booth is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Booth looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McKenzie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Booth is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
McKenzie wants to clinch.
McKenzie keeps Booth at a distance using the push kick.
Booth misses with a series of wild punches.
McKenzie misses with a head kick.

McKenzie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

McKenzie trying to control but Booth is working from the bottom.
McKenzie forces his way into half guard.

McKenzie stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
McKenzie tries for a takedown but Booth sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Booth circles away from the clinch attempt.
Booth throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McKenzie.
Booth misses with the combination.
Booth keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

McKenzie darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Booth trying to control but McKenzie postures up.
McKenzie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Booth does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McKenzie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Booth is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
McKenzie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Booth is refusing to be controlled, as McKenzie sits in half guard.

McKenzie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Booth doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McKenzie.

Booth wants to control but McKenzie postures up.

McKenzie tries for a kimura but Booth is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McKenzie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Booth knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Booth prevents McKenzie from improving position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A solid leg kick lands there for McKenzie.
Booth looks to clinch

and McKenzie holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

McKenzie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McKenzie shoots in but no luck this time.
McKenzie moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
McKenzie fails with a takedown attempt.
Booth tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and McKenzie counters by moving into the clinch.

Booth pulls guard effortlessly.
McKenzie is fighting to break Booth's control of his arms but Booth is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Booth kicks McKenzie off and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Booth bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McKenzie tries to bench press Booth off him but Booth keeps the position.

Booth grinds an elbow into McKenzie's temple.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Booth stands up.
The fight stays on the outside here - McKenzie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Booth throws a series of punches but McKenzie avoids them all with ease.
No luck for McKenzie with that takedown attempt.

McKenzie is looking to stall here but Booth recovers full guard.

Booth keeping moving, preventing McKenzie from controlling successfully.

Booth is trying to keep McKenzie in close.
Booth wants to stand but McKenzie is controlling the position.

Booth has momentary wrist control but McKenzie slips an elbow through the middle.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Booth moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Booth scores with a crisp jab that stopped McKenzie in his tracks.


McKenzie is rocked!

Booth dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! McKenzie has had enough and taps out.
