PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bearman Bearman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bearman Bearman told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bearman tries to close the distance and clinch but Black swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Black shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bearman defends it nicely.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bearman has eaten all the pies!
Black stuffs the takedown.

Bearman shoots in for a takedown but Black shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bearman jumps guard and drags Black to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bearman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Black has picked Bearman up and slammed him! Bearman can't keep hold of the triangle and Black manages to pass to side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Black jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bearman walks away with a smile on his face. Black gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Bearman shoots for a double leg takedown but Black sprawls well. He's pushed Bearman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Black lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Black is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bearman wants to control but Black is keeping busy.
Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Black is taking a breather. Bearman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Black's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Black has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bearman uses from the top position.

Black gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Black closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Black throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Bearman tries to pull guard but Black forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Rick Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bearman Bearman.

Black gets control of Bearman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Black will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Black is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bearman defends well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
