Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Massa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyuzo Mifune!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mifune closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mifune misses with a takedown attempt - Massa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mifune throws a right and a left that Massa avoids nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mifune is defended easily by Massa.
Mifune looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Massa is fending him off so far but Mifune persists. Nope, Massa circles away and we're back to standing.
Mike Massa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyuzo Mifune.
Massa cracks Mifune with an open hand slap.
Massa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mifune.
Nice shot lands for Massa.
Mifune takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Massa just misses with a punch to the body.
Massa cracks Mifune with a good jab.
Massa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mifune shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Massa counter with a right hand.
Mifune is rocked!
Mike Massa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Massa works over Mifune's head and body with a nice combination.
Mifune is still on wobbly legs! Can Massa finish him?
Massa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Massa lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Mifune is looking to close the distance but Massa sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Mifune crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Mifune is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
