Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Myers Hockles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giorgio Abbiati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abbiati has chosen Don't Speak - Eagles of Death Metal as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Giorgio Abbiati!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abbiati tries to keep at a distance but Hockles has taken the fight into the clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Myers Hockles will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hockles cracks Abbiati with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Myers Hockles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hockles uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Abbiati.

Hockles has managed to clinch.
Hockles jumps guard but Abbiati stands there with Hockles around his waist. Hockles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hockles is pushing Abbiati up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Abbiati stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hockles fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Abbiati is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Abbiati is pressed up against the cage. Hockles has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Abbiati down to the mat. Abbiati avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Abbiati will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hockles throws the kick towards the body but Abbiati avoids it.

Hockles scores with a head kick. Abbiati tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Abbiati rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hockles moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Abbiati is still on wobbly legs! Can Hockles finish him?

Hockles drives through and clinches with Abbiati against the cage.
Abbiati misses with a punch on the inside.
Abbiati seems to have recovered his senses.
Hockles blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Hockles jumps guard but Abbiati stands there with Hockles around his waist. Hockles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Abbiati misses with a hook to the ribs.
Hockles can't get the takedown.
Hockles tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Abbiati smiles and moves away.
Abbiati tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hockles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hockles looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hockles throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Abbiati is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Abbiati is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hockles is defending well for now.
