The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nasty shoots in but Karpecny avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Karpecny is looking to clinch.
Karpecny misses with a two punch combination.

Karpecny clinches up with Nasty and pushes him back against the cage.

Karpecny manages to break the clinch.
Karpecny tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nasty misses with a hook

A slapping body kick lands there for Karpecny.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Nasty is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Karpecny is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Nasty manages to get to full guard.

Nasty is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Nasty is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Nasty has his foot on Karpecny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Karpecny works his way back into a safe position though.

Karpecny tries to stand but Nasty is controlling from the bottom.

Karpecny is sitting in close to Nasty's body. Nasty has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Karpecny is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Karpecny is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Nasty.
