PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between jj Digs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kegon Ichimaru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kegon Ichimaru was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, jj Digs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kegon Ichimaru!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ichimaru leaves Digs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Digs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ichimaru circles away.
Ichimaru lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ichimaru lands with a kick to the ribs.
Digs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for jj Digs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Digs fails with the takedown.
Digs misses with a wild combination.
Ichimaru lands a nice leg kick that just misses Digs's sensitive parts.

Digs moves into the clinch.
Ichimaru stops a takedown attempt from Digs.
Ichimaru tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ichimaru throws an elbow that misses.
Ichimaru throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Digs blocks it with crossed arms.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Digs tries to land knees in the clinch but Ichimaru avoids the damage to the body.
Ichimaru misses with a knee strike.
Ichimaru throws a head punch that misses.
Ichimaru with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Ichimaru tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Digs manages to break the clinch.
Digs is looking to clinch.
Ichimaru stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ichimaru wants it to stay on the feet.
Ichimaru misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Digs gets a clinch.
Ichimaru throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Ichimaru gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Digs.
Ichimaru keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Digs's efforts to push away.

Digs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Digs shoots in but no luck this time.
Digs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ichimaru defends it nicely.
Ichimaru lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Digs circles away quickly and effectively.
Kegon Ichimaru is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ichimaru fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Digs.
Ichimaru scores with the left hand. Digs knows he should have avoided that one.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ichimaru connects with an inside leg kick.
Digs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ichimaru swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Digs blocks a head kick by Ichimaru.
Digs fails to land the takedown.
Digs shoots for a double leg takedown but Ichimaru sprawls well. He's pushed Digs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ichimaru lands a big head kick that sends Digs tumbling to the mat! Ichimaru takes a step backwards and waves Digs back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Digs is rocked!

It looks like jj Digs has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Ichimaru throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Digs is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kegon Ichimaru!
A relieved looking Kegon Ichimaru thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
