Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ashton Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ellis.
Ellis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ellis tries for a takedown but Ortiz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ortiz throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Ellis takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Ashton Ellis has been cut.
Justin Ortiz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashton Ellis.
Ellis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ortiz stuffs the takedown attempt from Ellis. Ellis gets slowly back to his feet.
Ashton Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ellis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ortiz tries to avoid it but Ellis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ortiz to the ground. Ortiz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Ortiz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ellis looks winded!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A jab from Ortiz does it's job there.
Ellis dives in and grabs Ortiz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ortiz pushes down on Ellis's head and hops out.
Ortiz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ellis looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ortiz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Ellis is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Ortiz has cracked Ellis with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Ortiz lands another huge swinging hook and Ellis tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Ellis, before Ortiz can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Justin Ortiz!
