PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boyka Kietas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jesse Carver was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kietas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kietas wants to take a breather but Carver is having none of it.
Kietas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carver's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kietas wants to stand up but Carver has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Kietas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carver does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Boyka Kietas.

Kietas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carver scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Carver controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Carver postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Carver is working Kietas over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Carver stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Carver shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Carver was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carver in side control lands a decent elbow.

Carver lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kietas down.
Kietas tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Carver easily slips into full mount!
Carver has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kietas is trying to escape the mount.
Kietas is breathing heavily.
Carver scores with a couple of good head shots there.
